Organic Waste Disposal Services.

Approximately one-third of the 100 million tons of food waste that ends up in U.S. landfills each year originates from commercial or industrial food processors.  Incinerators and landfills are the most common ways of dealing with this organic waste – and they are the most wasteful, expensive and inefficient ways of dealing with this organic waste.  Landfills fill up and must be sealed and then replaced with new landfills at ever greater distances.  Incinerators face increasingly stringent air quality regulations and generate incinerator ash that is itself a difficult waste product.
Planet Earth accepts organic wastes and diverts them from landfills and incinerators.  Planet Earth is already diverting organic wastes to composting and soil enhancer production in Central Florida.  In so doing, Planet Earth gives commercial and industrial food processors a lower cost disposal option having almost perpetual capacity.  Thus, in addition to providing immediate cost savings, Planet Earth relieves commercial and industrial food processors of the burden (and risk) of finding new disposal locations as landfills are filled and closed, and incinerators become unable to meet air quality emission standards.  This operation has exceptionally favorable environmental, economic and carbon emission profiles.
In the short to medium term, a depackaging plant where organic wastes will be sorted and classified will increase both the flexibility and profitability of Planet Earth’s existing disposal services operation.
In the longer term, Planet Earth’s disposal services operation will move to the next level of capacity, flexibility and profitability with the construction of an anaerobic digester (an “AD”).  The AD will enable Planet Earth to profitably process even larger volumes of organic waste in a shorter time.  The AD will also produce a readily marketable product (natural gas) as a profitable by-product.
